They're just opinions

I am an eclectic mix of artist, maverick, kung fu sage, librarian, and old hippie - and my posting will be all over the board, guaranteed. You may agree or not - read or not - like me or not, it's your time.

Another crossroads

I have stopped for a brief moment to stand at this place, this milemarker on my road, so that I may take a moment to look around. The weather is mild but warm and the breeze substantial. The day and my burdens are certainly not unbearable. This next leg of the journey should not be too bad either, I think. I'll see, shortly.

My job is settling into a pace dictated by the current phase of the consortial merger in conjunction with year end at the library. I am only peripherally impacted by the crossing of yet another institutional threshold. This controlled agility is purely by my own design and I am somewhat prideful about it. The potential is absolutely there to destroy me if I were to allow it to but I will not. I plan to keep walking forward until I have to leave this established path because for now, it affords the easiest going. Both I and my husband have a year ahead with a fair amount of positive potential and that would be best served by staying exactly where we are and doing what we are doing - while maintaining our usual high standards.

My summer school class starts Monday and I am scared- as usual-but I'll get over it.

Other than that, I am looking forward to the bits of summer -- finishing another class toward my degree, playing at a bluegrass festival in another state, attending a family reunion where I will sit up half the night talking to my paternal grandmother (who is 105 years old), paint, and play in my garden.

What a lovely photo!

Can you send some of that kind-of zen-like calm my way? I could use it.... ;-)

Enjoy your summer, and your gorgeous home, garden, and husband.

And your amazing, astounding, inspiring grandmother, too!
